Chocolate and wine - name a more iconic duo. Join the Social Events Committee for an evening of chocolate and wine pairing with Laughing Gull Chocolates! Indulge, learn, and socialize from the comfort of your home as we walk through four unique pairings designed to entice your taste buds and explore the history of chocolate and the nuances of tasting chocolate and wine.
Laughing Gull Chocolates was conceived out of a long-standing love affair with chocolate, a fascination with its story, and a desire to use chocolate as a vehicle for social change. After spending years delving into the history of cacao, founder Lindsay Tarnoff discovered that her love of making chocolate was as powerful as her resolve to use her favorite food to change the world. Lindsay began sharing her passion for ethically-sourced chocolate through unique chocolate truffles, and fun, educational workshops.
The new business was nurtured with love and care in Rhode Island. In 2016, Lindsay and her growing family found a new home in Rochester, NY, and Laughing Gull evolved into a brick and mortar store on East Main Street.
Order your ticket and chocolate tasting kit using our private order link below. Ticket purchases will include the virtual experience, a tasting wheel, and the chocolate kit: four large chocolate confections to be paired with two wines. Tickets cost $16.99 + S&H (varies by location) and will ship directly to participants approximately 10 days before the event. Participants will receive a tracking number in their email inboxTasting kits MUST be ordered by Friday, February 19 to guarantee delivery in time for the event. Wine is optional for this tasting; however, if you would like to participate in the full wine and chocolate experience, Laughing Gull recommends purchasing two wines (one red and one white) from any local wine & liquor store:
Red: Alamos Malbec (~ $9.99 per bottle) or similar wine
White: Toasted Head Chardonnay (~ $9.99 per bottle) or similar wine
Please avoid anything high in tannins, overly dry, or too sweet, as these extremes overwhelm the palate. Each chocolate will be tasted with both wines during the tasting!
Laughing Gull Chocolates will provide a Zoom link to all ticket registrants ahead of the event.
Junior League of Boston members will receive 1 Membership Social Event Credit for attending this event.
